day 1

Marrakech – Agdz through Ouarzazate​ (5h / 270 km)

Early departure at 8:30 AM from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, heading towards the south of Morocco via the spectacular High Atlas Mountains road.

• Crossing the legendary Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, the highest in the country (2260 m), offering breathtaking views of the Atlas peaks.

• Stop at the Telouet Kasbah, former residence of the legendary Pasha Glaoui, still showcasing carved ceilings and beautiful multicolored zellige tiles.

• Continue through the stunning Ounila Valley, a hidden gem with ochre canyons and Berber villages clinging to the mountainside.

• Explore the magnificent ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its earthen architecture and international film shoots.

Lunch at a local restaurant, with a view of the ksar or near the city of Ouarzazate.

DAY 2

Agdz - Drâa Valley - M'Hamid - Chegaga Dunes (4h / 240 km )

Breakfast at your accommodation in Agdz, before hitting the road again in a 4x4.

• Departure along the Drâa Valley, renowned for its lush oases, green palm groves, and traditional kasbahs.

• Stop in Tamgrout, a Saharan village known for:

– Its ancient Quranic library, one of the oldest in Morocco, home to handwritten manuscripts.

– Its artisanal pottery workshops, famous for the region’s signature green ceramics.

• Continue to M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the vast Sahara Desert. End of the paved road: welcome to the open desert.

Lunch in M’Hamid at a local restaurant, featuring the authentic flavors of traditional Moroccan cuisine.

• Depart by 4x4 on Saharan tracks, crossing desert plateaus and sand dunes to reach the majestic Chegaga dunes.

• Arrival at the nomadic camp, nestled in the heart of the Chegaga erg.

• Welcome with mint tea, a warm symbol of Saharan hospitality.

Camel ride for a peaceful immersion in the infinite silence of the desert.

Sunset over the Chegaga dunes, a magical moment of golden light and endless landscape.

Dinner under the tent or around the fire, accompanied by traditional Berber songs beneath the stars.

DAY 3

Chegaga Dune – Lac Iriqui – Foum Zguid ( 3h / 80 km )

Early morning wake-up in the desert, to enjoy the absolute silence and watch the sunrise over the Chegaga dunes, an unforgettable moment bathed in golden light.

• Optional sandboarding session—glide down the dunes for a fun and accessible activity for all ages.

Breakfast at the nomadic camp, served under the tent or outdoors depending on the weather.

• Departure by 4x4 on a wild off-road track through arid plains and desert dunes.

• Cross the dry lake of Iriqui, once a vast body of water, now a striking salt and white sand desert with a lunar-like landscape.

• Stops along the way for fossil hunting, where prehistoric remains can often be found right on the ground.

• Arrival in Foum Zguid, a peaceful Saharan town on the edge of the desert, known for its authentic charm.

DAY 4

Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech ( 5h / 320 km )

Breakfast at the hotel in Foum Zguid before setting off towards Marrakech.

• Departure northbound, through a variety of desert, semi-arid, and mountainous landscapes.

• Stop in the village of Taznakht, renowned across Morocco for its textile craftsmanship, especially hand-knotted Berber rugs.

• Visit to a local artisan cooperative to discover traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations.

Lunch along the way, at a typical local restaurant in the heart of southern Morocco.

• Journey continues through the High Atlas Mountains, with mountain passes, valleys, and breathtaking scenery.

Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon and transfer to your riad or hotel.
